Join the Healthy Food Coalition
Our Agreement with You

As the Healthy Food Coalition (the Coalition) is not formally organized, it cannot make an actual agreement with the individual member or participating business or non-profit ("you").   As the conveners, however, Harry and Elaine Hamil ("we") can.  We commit to you as follows:

  1. We will only share your name, the town in which you reside and the amount of your donation with the recipient group to which we pass through your donation.
  2. We will never share your e-mail, full mailing address or any other personal information about you with anyone else without your specific permission.
  3. We will always strive for accuracy, honesty and completeness when communicating with you.  This is particularly true when we are trying to assist you in your efforts to become informed.  We intend to post critiques, including criticisms, of our work and information from a wide array of sources on our website, www.healthyfoodcoalition.org.
  4. We will endeavor to remain open to your input whether critical or positive.
  5. The Healthy Food Coalition, itself, will take no positions, per se, on issues.  No one, including us, is authorized to speak for the Coalition except to describe what it is about and how it operates.
  6. Taking positions on the issues is the responsibility of the individual member or participating business or non-profit.  The Coalition's part in this is to only facilitate your taking action by informing you of campaigns and calls for action presented to us by those participating in the Coalition.
  7. We own the website and the domain and are entirely responsible for its content.
  8. Donations -
    1. All money we receive will be properly and publicly accounted for.
    2. We will forward any money we receive, in its entirety, to Farm and Ranch Freedom Alliance (FARFA).  For more info about FARFA, please see http://farmandranchfreedom.org/content/.
    3. None of these donations are tax deductible.
    4. FARFA will use the money donated by our members to advocate for healthy food.  Some of the donations may be used to pay administrative or overhead costs for the nonprofit's advocacy work.  FARFA may also share the donations with other organizations that also advocate for healthy food. The Healthy Food Coalition will not retain any money donated to it.  If the Coalition has out-of-pocket expenses, it will submit them to FARFA which will decide if the expenses are warranted and only pay them if it deems they are.
    5. The Coalition will also encourages its members to make donations directly to participating organizations.
    6. We will disclose the source and use of all funds which directly support the Healthy Food Coalition.
  9. We reserve the exclusive right to bar anyone from the use of the website without publicly disclosing our reason.  We intend to do this only in cases of personal abuse, the failure to disclose potential conflicts of interest or repeated posting of misleading information.  In cases of disclosed potential conflicts of interest, we will generally allow the individual to post information.  However, if we deem the information misleading, we intend to name it as such and call for the individual or group to not do so again.  If it continues, we will bar the individual or group from further participation in the coalition.
  10. We reserve the right to alter this agreement at any time at our own discretion.  In the event we do so, we will prominently disclose the change and our reasons for it.  Any changes will only apply prospectively.
  11. In the event an individual member or participating business or non-profit desires to change her/his/its level of participation or withdraw from the Coalition, we will make the change as quickly as practicable.

Below are the specific commitments for individuals, businesses, and nonprofits who wish to join or participate in the Coalition.  For each, the minimum required donation is 2 cents, with the member deciding whether and how much to give beyond that.  The 2 cents minimum symbolizes the need for people to put their "2 cents" into the discussion.
